Karla Huebner is a writer and art historian. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous literary and genre publications and her novel In Search of the Magic Theater will be published by Regal House in 2022. Other novels are underway. Her scholarly writing focuses on surrealism and Czech modernism, with interests in gender and sexuality, periodical studies, and film. Her monograph Magnetic Woman: Toyen and the Surrealist Erotic will be out in November 2020 and is now available for pre-order from University of Pittsburgh Press. She is also preparing an anthology of Czech modernist writing on art, architecture, and visual culture 1900-1950.
