Jen Soriano (she~they) is a Filipinx-American writer whose work blurs the lines between nonfiction, surrealism and poetry. Her essays have appeared or are forthcoming in The Believer, Pleiades, Waxwing, Assay and other journals. Jen is the author of "Making the Tongue Dry," a chapbook of lyric essays and prose poems published by Arts by the People, now in its second edition. She is the recipient of the 2019 Penelope Niven Prize, the 2019 Fugue Prose Prize, and fellowships from Jack Jones and Hugo House. She was also a finalist in the 2019 Ploughshares emerging writers contest. Jen holds a BA in History and Science from Harvard and an MFA from the Rainier Writing Workshop, where she studied under the mentorship of Julie Marie Wade, Kent Meyers, and Barrie Jean Borich.
