Richard Robbins studied as an undergraduate at San Diego State University and as a graduate student at the University of Montana. He has published five books of poems: The Invisible Wedding (1984), Famous Persons We Have Known (2000), The Untested Hand (2008), Radioactive City (2009), and Other Americas (2010). Over the years, he has received various awards and fellowships, including those from The Loft and the McKnight Foundation, The Minnesota State Arts Board, The Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers, The National Endowment for the Arts, and The Poetry Society of America. He currently directs the creative writing program and Good Thunder Reading Series at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
