S.L. (Sandi) Wisenberg's collection, The Wandering Womb: Essays in Search of Home, won the 2022 Juniper Prize in nonfiction and will be published March 31, 2023, by the University of Massachusetts Press. Wisenberg is the editor of AnotherChicagoMagazine.net. She teaches at the University of Chicago Graham School and also works as a writing coach and editor. She is also the author of The Sweetheart Is In, a fiction collection (Northwestern, 2001); Holocaust Girls: History, Memory & Other Obsessions (Nebraska, 2002), essays; and The Adventures of Cancer Bitch (Iowa, 2009), a chronicle. She is the former director and co-director of the MA/MFA Program in Creative Writing at Northwestern University and former literary editor of TriQuarterly.org. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Narrative, New England Review, TriQuarterly, Colorado Review, The Pinch, Michigan Quarterly Review, Lilith, Tikkun, and many other journals. She was a feature writer at the Miami Herald, and has published articles and essays in publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, Salon, and the Houston Chronicle, and many publications that are now defunct. She is a third-generation Texan.  In 2013 she was the Coal Royalty Chair in Creative Writing in the MFA program at the University of Alabama.
