Peter Mountford’s debut novel A Young Man’s Guide to Late Capitalism (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) won the 2012 Washington State Book Award. His second novel The Dismal Science, published by Tin House Books in 2014, was a NYT editor's choice, and a finalist for the 2015 WASBA. His work has appeared in The Southern Review, the New York Times Magazine, The Sun, Conjunctions, Granta, Boston Review, The Atlantic, and Best New American Voices 2008. A fellow of Yaddo and Bread Loaf Writer's Conference, his work has been supported by grants from 4Culture, the Elizabeth George Foundation, and Seattle's Office of Arts and Culture. Between 2012-14 he was the prose Writer-in-Residence at Hugo House, where he is now the events curator. He joined the faculty of Sierra Nevada's low-residency MFA in 2014.
