Paula Martinac is the author of four published novels, including The Ada Decades (2017), a finalist for the 2018 Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBTQ Fiction, and the Lambda Literary Award-winning Out of Time (1990; 2012). Her fifth novel, Clio Rising, will be published by Bywater Books in May 2019. She has also published three nonfiction books and numerous articles and essays; her short stories have appeared in the Raleigh Review, Minerva Rising, Main Street Rag, Bloom, Art & Understanding, and other places. 

Also a playwright, Martinac’s plays have had productions with Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater Company, Manhattan Theatre Source, the Pittsburgh New Works Festival, No Name Players, and others. She teaches creative writing to undergraduates at UNC Charlotte.
