Renee Simms' stories and essays have appeared / are forthcoming in Joyland, Salon, North American Review, The Feminist Wire, Duende, Hawai'i Review, and in the 2014 anthology All About Skin: Short Fiction by Women Writers of Color. Her fiction has been supported by fellowships from Vermont Studio Center, PEN Center, Kimbilio, and VONA. She has an M.F.A. from Arizona State University and a J.D. from Wayne State University. She teaches writing and African American Studies at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA.
