Karen Alkalay-Gut is professor emeritus of English poetry at Tel Aviv University, and Chair of the Israel Association of Writers in English. The author of a biography of Adelaide Crapsey, she has published over thirty books of poetry in English, and one in Yiddish/Hebrew entitled Yerusha.  She has been translated into at least a dozen languages, including Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian, and has written well over a hundred academic articles and reviews on a wide variety of literary subjects ranging from Chaucer to Holocaust fiction. She has published over thirty books of poetry, one even reviewed in the pages of Shofar.  She is also the writer for the rock group, Panic Ensemble, and has produced CDs in English and Italian translation.
