Jennifer S. Cheng’s work includes poetry, lyric essay, and image-text forms. Her second book, MOON: Letters, Maps, Poems, was selected by Bhanu Kapil for the Tarpaulin Sky Book Award and named a Publishers Weekly “Best Book of 2018.” She is also the author of House A, selected by Claudia Rankine for the Omnidawn Poetry Book Prize, and Invocation: An Essay, an image-text chapbook published by New Michigan Press. She is a 2019 National Endowment for the Arts Fellow and has received support and awards from Brown University, the University of Iowa, San Francisco State University, the U.S. Fulbright program, Kundiman, Bread Loaf, and the Academy of American Poets. Her creative and critical writing appears in Tin House, AGNI, Mid-American Review, Black Warrior Review, The Normal School, DIAGRAM, Entropy, Jacket2, Guernica, The Rumpus, and elsewhere. Having grown up in Texas and Hong Kong, she currently teaches in the MFA program at the University of San Francisco.
