Jane Bledsoe is the author of a collection of short stories, two novellas, six children’s books, and four novels. Her most recent novel, The Big Bang Symphony, was a finalist for four awards, including the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association’s Novel of the Year and the Ferro-Grumley Award. She’s been featured on NPR’s To The Best of Our Knowledge several times. Her fiction also has won a Yaddo fellowship, the 2013 Saturday Evening Post Fiction Award, the Arts & Letters Fiction Prize, a California Arts Council Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Humanities Youthgrant, an American Library Association Stonewall Award, and two National Science Foundation Artists & Writers Fellowships. Her short story “Girl with Boat” was nominated for a Pushcart. Her stories have been translated into Japanese, Spanish, German, Dutch, and Chinese. She’s traveled to both Cuba and Antarctica as a visiting writer.
