Michele Morano is the author of the essay collections Like Love (longlisted for the 2021 PEN Diamondstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay) and Grammar Lessons: Translating a Life in Spain. Her essays have appeared in many anthologies and literary journals, including Best American Essays, Ninth Letter, Brevity, and The Normal School. She has received honors and awards for her writing from the Rona Jaffe Foundation, the American Association of University Women, and the New York Public Library, among others. She is Professor and Chair of the English Department at DePaul University in Chicago.
