Kris Bigalk is the author of the poetry collections Enough (2019( and Repeat the Flesh in Numbers (2012), both published by New York Quarterly Books; her poetry also appears in several anthologies many other literary magazines, and her essays have appeared in the Rumpus and The Great River Review. She regularly serves as a regional judge for the Poetry Out Loud recitation competition. Bigalk founded and now directs the groundbreaking AFA in Creative Writing program at Normandale Community College, where she was awarded a Board of Trustees Excellence in Teaching Award. Since 2022, she has coordinated the Minnesota State Write Like Us program, an equity-based mentorship program pairing BIPOC student writers with established writers in the community for meaningful mentorship experiences. In 2023, Bigalk took the helm of Trio House Press, serving as its Executive Director.
