Kris Bigalk is the author of the poetry collection Repeat the Flesh in Numbers (NYQ Books); her poetry also appears in several anthologies, including Poetry City, USA, Volumes 2 and 3 (LowBrow Press) and The Liberal Media Made Me Do It (Lummox Press), and has appeared in Water~Stone Review, cream city review, Iron Horse Literary Review, Silk Road, and many other literary magazines.  Bigalk has twice been awarded Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Grants in Poetry, and was Writer in Residence at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts.  She regularly serves as a regional judge for the national Poetry Out Loud recitation competition.Bigalk founded and now directs the groundbreaking AFA in Creative Writing program at Normandale Community College, where she was awarded a Board of Trustees Excellence in Teaching Award.  She also teaches occasionally in the MFA in Creative Writing program at Hamline University.
