Christina Olivares is the author of the full-length book of poetry No Map of the Earth Includes Stars (winner of the 2014 Marsh Hawk Poetry Prize), the chaplet Interrupt (Belladonna* Collaborative Press), and an untitled chapbook, winner of the 2014 Vinyl 45s Chapbook Contest. She is a participant in Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Workspace program (2015-2016). She was awarded Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grants in 2010 and again in 2014: the first grant provided support for travel to Cuba to complete poems in her first book, and the second is currently providing support to visit archives in Atlanta and Boston to complete her second full-length book of poetry which responds to the work and life of Audre Lorde. In 2008, she was awarded a Teachers and Writers Collaborative Fellowship. She completed her undergraduate studies at Amherst College and her graduate studies (MFA) in poetry at CUNY Brooklyn College. Christina lives in the Bronx.
