Michael Waters has published numerous books of poetry, including Celestial Joyride, Gospel Night, Darling Vulgarity (finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize), and Parthenopi: New and Selected Poems. He is co-editor of Contemporary American Poetry and Perfect in Their Art: Poems on Boxing from Homer to Ali. His poems have appeared in Poetry, American Poetry Review, Paris Review, Yale Review, Kenyon Review, Southern Review, Georgia Review, Gettysburg Review, and Rolling Stone. He has chaired the poetry panel for the National Book Awards. The recipient of five Pushcart Prizes, as well as grants from the NEA, Fulbright Foundation, and NJ State Council for the Arts, he teaches at Monmouth U and for the Drew U MFA Program in Poetry and Poetry in Translation.
