Aimee Parkison's story collection Refrigerated Music for a Gleaming Woman won the FC2 Catherine Doctorow Innovative Fiction Prize and was published by FC2/University of Alabama Press in 2017. A member of the FC2 Board of Directors since 2019, Parkison has received a William Faulkner Literary Competition Prize for the Novel, a Christopher Isherwood Fellowship, a Writers at Work Fellowship, a Puffin Foundation Fellowship, a North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship, an American Antiquarian Society Hearst Fellowship, and a Kurt Vonnegut Fiction Prize from North American Review. Parkison's writing has appeared in numerous literary magazines. Her other books are Girl Zoo (with Carol Guess, FC2 2019) The Petals of Your Eyes (Starcherone/Dzanc 2014), The Innocent Party (BOA Editions’ American Reader Series, 2012), and Woman with Dark Horses, which won the first annual Starcherone Fiction Prize. She currently teaches fiction writing at Oklahoma State University.
