Martin McGovern earned his M.A. in Philosohy at Stanford and his Ph.D. in Creative Writing at the University of Houston. His poetry, essays and reviews have appeared in The New Republic, Poetry, Hotel Amerika and elsewhere; his book of poetry, Bad Fame, published by Able Muse Press, will appear in Winter 2014/15. Having also worked in theatre for almost 20 years, McGovern's play "Joseph K" received a 2009 Denver Post Ovations Award for Best New Work. An Associate Professor at Regis University in Denver, Martin is also Co-Director of the Regis University Mile-High Low-Res MFA in Creative Writing which will open its doors in January 2016.
