Amorak Huey spent more than a decade as a reporter and editor before leaving the newspaper business to teach writing at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He holds an MFA from Western Michigan University. He is author of three books of poetry and two chapbooks, as well as co-author with W. Todd Kaneko of the textbook Poetry: A Writer's Guide and Anthology (Bloomsbury Academic, 2018). His poetry appears in The Best American Poetry 2012, The Southern Review, The Cincinnati Review, Hayden's Ferry Review, Subtropics, Caketrain, Rattle, The Collagist, Poet Lore, Linebreak and many other print and online journals.
