Pamela L. Laskin is a poet and children's book author. She is a lecturer in the English Department at The City College, where she directs The Poetry Outreach Center. She is the author of five books of poetry, including THE BONSAI CURATOR and VAN GOGH'S EAR (Cervena Barva Press) and THE PLAGIARIST (Dos Madres Press). Individual poems, stories and essays have been published in BOSTON LITERARY REVIEW, EVENING STREET REVIEW, NEW YORK QUARTERLY, PARTING GIFTS, PINYON REVIEW, among others. Five picture books and two young adult novels have been published, VISITATION RITES (Diversion Press, 2012),  the latest.Ms. Laskin has edited two books for teens, LIFE ON THE MOON: MY BEST FRIEND'S SECRETS and THE HEROIC YOUNG WOMAN, original feminist fairy tales. GENDAWAY, a children's play, was performed at City College's one-act festival.

Ms. Laskin is a member of The American Academy of Poets, The Poetry Society of America, PEN America, Poets & Writers and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. In 2017, 

Harper Collins published her young adult novel in verse, RONIT AND JAMIL, a Palestinian/Israeli ROMEO AND JULIET in verse for teens in 2017 to stellar reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Review and Horn. It is a Texas Tayshas and Sydney Taylor notable book award winner. BEA, a picture book, was a finalist in the Katherine Paterson Children's Writing Prize.She is the winner of Leapfrog Contest's 2018 for her YA WHY NO BHINE, whose focus is the persecution of the Rohingya Muslim Population.
