Jesse Lee Kercheval is a writer, poet, artist, and translator, specializing in Uruguayan poetry. Her latest books are the graphic memoir, French Girl, (Fieldmouse Press, 2024) and poetry collections I Want To Tell You (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2023) and Un pez dorado no te sirve para nada (Editorial Yaugarú, Uruguay, 2023). Her memoir, Space, was the winner of the Alex Award form the American Library Association. Her translations include Love Poems by Idea Vilariño and The Invisible Bridge: Selected Poems Circe Maia, for which she awarded an NEA in Translation, both from the University of Pittsburgh Press. She is the Zona Gale Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Editor of the Wisconsin Poetry Series at the University of Wisconsin Press. www.jlkercheval.com
