Sarah Layden is the author of The Story I Tell Myself About Myself, winner of the 2017 Sonder Press Chapbook Competition, and Trip Through Your Wires (Engine Books, 2015), a novel. Her short fiction has won the Allen and Nirelle Galson Prize for Fiction and an AWP Intro Award, and can be found in Boston Review, Stone Canoe, Blackbird, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Artful Dodge, The Evansville Review, Booth, PANK, the anthology Sudden Flash Youth, and elsewhere. A two-time Society of Professional Journalists award winner, her recent essays, interviews and articles have appeared in The Washington Post, Poets & Writers, Salon, The Millions, Ladies' Home Journal, The Indianapolis Star, The Writer's Chronicle, NUVO, and The Humanist. She earned a B.S. in journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and an MFA in fiction writing from Purdue University. She is an Assistant Professor of English at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
