Lisa Alexia is a writer, publisher, mother, and physician assistant. She grew up surrounded by antiquarian books in northern California, moved off the grid into the woods of first Minnesota, then Alaska, for her 20s and 30s, and now lives in Anchorage. She provides health care in remote villages on an intermittent basis. Her publishing company, Denali Sunrise Publications, promotes authors from and works relevant to rural Alaska, emphasizing subsistence traditions. She is committed to using the best of her lifelong literary experiences to benefit rural Alaska and the people who depend on its survival.
