Susan McCarty's stories and essays have appeared in Indiana Review, Iowa Review, Utne Reader, Conjunctions, the Collagist, Willow Springs, and elsewhere. She has an MFA in fiction from Vermont College and a PhD in literature and creative writing from the University of Utah. In a previous life, she was an assistant editor at Penguin Group and Avalon Books. Currently, she is an assistant professor of English at Salisbury University.
