Since 2005, the annual Best New Poets anthology has provided recognition and encouragement to emerging writers who have yet to publish a full-length collection. Recent and past contributors will read from their work to celebrate the anthology’s tenth anniversary and the success many poets have found after appearing in its pages.

Moderator:

Jazzy Danziger is the author of Darkroom, winner of the 2012 Brittingham Prize in Poetry, and series editor for the Best New Poets anthology.

Eduardo C. Corral is a CantoMundo fellow. His work has appeared in Best American Poetry 2012New England ReviewPloughshares, and PoetrySlow Lightning, his first book, won the 2011 Yale Series of Younger Poets competition. He is the recipient of a Whiting Writers' Award and an NEA Fellowship.

Sandra Beasley is the author of Don’t Kill the Birthday Girl: Tales from an Allergic Life; I Was the Jukebox (Barnard Women Poets Prize); and Theories of Falling (New Issues Poetry Prize). Her work has been in the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Oxford American.

Phillip B. Williams is the author of the chapbooks Bruised Gospels and Burn. His first full-length collection, Thief in the Interior, is forthcoming. A Cave Canem graduate, he has received scholarships from Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and a Ruth Lilly Fellowship.

Lisa Fay Coutley is the author of Errata and In the Carnival of Breathing. She has received an NEA fellowship, Bread Loaf and Sewanee Writers' Conferences scholarships, and an Academy of American Poets Levis Prize.
