Please join us to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kestrel: A Journal of Literature and Art. Established at Fairmont State University in 1993, Kestrel’s mission includes honoring contributors with a two-day celebration of each issue on campus. From the beginning, Kestrel has published established and emerging writers. Under the current masthead, the journal has hosted over two-hundred contributors from the U.S. and beyond. Join us for stories about Kestrel and the work published in it.
Donna J. Long’s poems have appeared most recently in Clockhouse, The Southern Review, and Appalachian Heritage, as well as in the anthologies The Southern Poetry Anthology, Volume III, and The Poets’ Guide to the Birds. She has served as editor in chief of Kestrel since 2008.
Martin Lammon’s latest book is The Long Road Home: Poems. Co-founder of the literary journal Kestrel, he taught for over 20 years at Georgia College & State University, where he founded the MFA in creative writing program and the journal Arts & Letters. He is a former President of AWP's Board of Directors (2000–2002).
