The AWP Benefit Reading Series
Benefit Reading Series Information Everyone who coordinates literary readings should take advantage of AWP’s Benefit Reading Series. AWP maintains a list of poets and writers who have agreed to donate the honorarium from one reading to AWP, and to set that honorarium at a low $1000. Benefit Reading Series participants have agreed to these terms because they want to help AWP, the only national nonprofit organization cultivating both the appreciation of contemporary literature and the growth and quality of education in creative writing.
The AWP Benefit Reading Series makes available a large and diverse group of authors at a minimal charge. To set up a reading, please contact Lucy. Include in your email who you’d like to read and when, and we will contact the reader. In sponsoring a Benefit Series Reader you are responsible for costs associated with travel, meals, and accommodations, as well as the $1000 honorarium that the reader has agreed to donate to AWP.
Questions about the Benefit Reading Series should be directed to AWP Membership Services by e-mail, by fax at (703) 993-4302, or by phone at (703) 993-4304 during regular business hours.
